Rhode Island has so much to offer and with a vast array of activities to choose from, there is plenty of time to enjoy more summer fun.

Breweries…

Did you know Rhode Island was once the rum capital of the world, home to more than 20 distilleries in Newport alone? Today’s distillers and brewers are young, ambitious and really know their craft—artisans and entrepreneurs who are combining the latest technology with time-tested techniques. Boating…

Whether you are looking for a casual sail or water-based transportation, Newport and the surrounding towns have a lot of options. The Jamestown ferry is available for hop-on hop-off service to Jamestown, Rose Island, Fort Adams, Ann St Pier, and Perrotti Park.

If you want a true sailing experience, Newport has so many options. The

Madeline, offers morning sails, day sails and sunset sails. Another Sailboat option is the Schooner Adirondack II, an 80-foot, turn-of-the-century-style pilot schooner which offers mimosa morning sails, daytime sails, cocktail sails and sunset sails.

Not into sailboats… the Rum Runner II offers an early morning light houses & mimosas cruise, a narrated cruise in the East Passage, and a cocktail cruise. In addition, the Amazing Grace offers harbor tours and charters. Looking for more serious sailing options? America’s Cup Charters and 12 Meter Yacht Charters offer ticketed sails and charters of Classic America’s Cup 12 meter yachts.

Lastly, Perrotti Park offers fast ferry options to both Block Island and Providence. Ferry Access to Nantucket and Martha’s Vineyard are available from Quonset Point or New Bedford.

Beach Fires…

August brings one of our personal favorites; the Monday night concert series at Second beach.

Monday nights in August – 6-9 pm

Food trucks, live music and fire pits.

Basement Cracks…
